PES meets up with Ivo Lackner, Head of Sales and Marketing at Serbot Innovations, Switzerland to discuss the benefits of clean solar panels, the role of experience, know-how in innovation and the growth of the solar industry…
PES: Welcome back to PES Solar/PV magazine. Thanks for talking with us. Would you like to begin by explaining a little about the background of your organisation and how you currently serve the solar industry?
Ivo Lackner: Serbot AG is a Swiss technology company with in-house development and production as well as a worldwide network of sales partners. We are the market leader in automated cleaning systems for solar panel cleaning. Together with the German company WOKO, it is a part of the Heppenstall Technology Group based in Switzerland.
PES: Is solar/PV still a growing business area for Serbot?
IL: Yes, definitely. The PV market is growing at an impressive pace and we have solid technical experience with our robots in the field. Some of our customers cover more than 200 kilometres a year with SERBOT’s robots, which means we have gained the necessary knowledge and know-how for service and maintenance. Up until now we have concentrated our business in central Europe.
