Dek Solar Appoints New Recruit To Lead Companys Direct Sales Channel Development

DEK Solar has announced the appointment of Michael Shi as its new Regional Sales Manager. Responsible for developing and refining a direct sales channel for the solar production equipment specialist, Michael’s role will see him extend the company’s rising profile in the photovoltaic marketplace.

Commenting on his new role, Michael explains: “I’m delighted to be joining DEK Solar at such an exciting time for the company. Following the launch of its award- winning metallization platforms, along with the introduction of its most recent technology breakthrough Eclipse, the company is now well established in the industry. I’m looking forward to building on this reputation by developing long-term customer partnerships and continuing our award-winning approach to service and support. Market share is obviously a major target; however, the primary focus will continue to be delivering our customers the tools they need to meet their precise PV production challenges.”

In his new role, Michael will be responsible for managing customer relationships and developing market strategy. In the most immediate term, the new DEK Solar recruit will be helping customers understand the benefits of the company’s new Eclipse platform. Representing an entirely new modular platform design concept, Eclipse incorporates a series of field-retrofittable process modules that enable manufacturers to easily scale production to 1200, 2400 or 3600 wph. Primary process modules incorporate master controls while additional process modules operate as secondary “slaves”, making the scale-up process even more cost effective. Spacer process modules equipped with conveyors can be deployed at initial installation, then simply exchanged for additional print capacity when demand dictates – meaning that performance can be easily upgraded in the field for manufacturers who forsee a production increase.

Michael joins DEK with extensive experience in the SMT and Solar industries, having played important roles at high-profile companies in the field. Commenting on Michael’s appointment, DEK Solar Greater China Alternative Energies Business Development Manager, Daniel Chang, explains: “In addition to our commitment to innovation, highlighted by important technology releases such as Eclipse, we’re also committed to delivering an unrivalled level of service and support. For this reason, we’re delighted to welcome Michael to the team. I’m confident that he will apply his extensive industry experience to help our customers continue to expect more.”
