Munich, Germany – June 6, 2024: REC Group, an international pioneering solar energy company, will be proudly exhibiting at Intersolar Europe 2024 in Munich, Germany on June 19-21. At booth A2.460, REC will showcase its latest innovations based on the multiple-award-winning REC Alpha platform and the advanced heterojunction solar cell technology (HJT). In light of increasing ESG regulations like the EU’s CSRD, sustainability efforts and transparency become another critical criteria beyond power and price for choosing the right solar panels. REC is proud to announce that it recently received the EcoVadis Silver Medal for its Advanced ESG efforts. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn, see and feel REC’s manufacturing excellence and strong sustainability approach.
High-power products based on today’s most advanced solar technology
Innovation and manufacturing excellence is deeply rooted in REC’s DNA, with the company being the only solar panel manufacturer in the market to receive the prestigious Intersolar Award three times. Visitors to the booth will have the opportunity to see REC’s latest products, including the REC Alpha Pure-RX with up to 470 watt-peak and the REC Alpha Pure-R that reaches 430 watt-peak – both featuring large G12 HJT cells in a compact panel size for rooftop installations.
REC is strongly committed to HJT technology and has been mastering it since launching the first REC Alpha panel in 2019. REC’s Alpha HJT solar panels offer a leading low temperature coefficient of -0.24% per °C, enabling higher energy output even as temperatures rise. Manufactured at a low temperature process of 200°C, this reduces thermal stress for cells and energy consumption. Compared to other technologies, HJT cells are based on thinner wafers, making them more flexible and robust, reducing the risk of microcracks. All of these contribute to minimum 92% guaranteed power output at 25 years of operation. Plus, REC panels are eligible for the comprehensive REC ProTrust warranty package.
With its low temperature process and only half of the required manufacturing steps compared to other technologies such as TOPCon, REC’s Alpha HJT products are contributing to saving resources such as energy and water. This is added value to homeowners and businesses for even greater sustainability.
Combining Performance and Sustainability with Purpose in mind
REC has been at the forefront of combining high-efficiency innovations with sustainable manufacturing practices for almost 30 years. As such, it is not a surprise that REC scored high in its very first EcoVadis rating with a Silver Medal. This recognition places REC among the top 15% of assessed companies in the electronic goods manufacturing industry globally.[1]
EcoVadis, a trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, evaluates companies based on Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. REC Group excelled in particular in the themes Environment and Labor & Human Rights. Attendees can learn about how to responsibly choose solar panels, how REC integrates energy, water and waste savings into its operations through innovative practices, and how REC performs Due Diligence on its supply chain. More information is available on www.recgroup.com/sustainability and in REC’s latest annual ESG report.
“REC perceives sustainability as a transformative force reshaping the business landscape,” states Jan Enno Bicker, CEO at REC Group. “Companies integrating sustainability into their core strategies often benefit from innovation, operational efficiency and supply chain resilience. Investing into solar energy is a straightforward approach to reducing emissions, with attention to detail crucial for greater positive impact,” Bicker continues.
Connecting and growing together
Aligned with its mantra “Solar’s Most Trusted”, REC supports its partners and installers through the REC Certified Solar Professional Program, including the REC ProPortal and REC ProPage. These tools enable REC-certified installers to quickly and easily create dynamic online webpages to promote their business with REC. REC’s popular Happy Hour, a networking opportunity with REC’s Sales, Product Development, Technical Service, ESG and Management teams will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at 4:00 pm at booth A2.460. Attendees can enjoy refreshments while networking and discussing REC’s innovations and the future of solar energy. Free entry tickets are available here: www.recgroup.com/intersolar
