A UK-first collaboration between SOLARWATT UK & IRELAND and Stiebel Eltron UK and is set to drive forward renewable energy powered homes across the United Kingdom.
The partnership will offer a holistic approach to the implementation of renewable technologies across dwellings, maximising energy efficiency, cost savings, and delivering sustainable homes across the UK.
Combining SOLARWATT’s solar panel technology, battery storage solutions and Manager flex energy management system with STIEBEL ELTRON’s heat pump systems, the two companies will create a single renewable energy package. Sector Coupling is the intelligent linking of the worlds of photovoltaics, mobility, and heat. As pioneers of sector coupling this collaboration will further our mission in being the lifelong companion to people wanting to supply themselves with clean energy.
“The combination will revolutionise the adoption of sustainable technologies across the country’s homes by providing a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for renewable energy,” Mark McManus, STIEBEL ELTRON Managing Director, said.
Providing a pairing which leads to greater energy independence, the partnership integrates all the necessary components of heat pumps and solar panels together in a seamless fashion, with smart capabilities which utilise energy in the most efficient way.
At the heart of the collaboration is SOLARWATT’s advanced Manager flex and Stiebel Eltron’s EM Trend, with both components optimising the system and supporting energy storage.
The state-of-the-art technologies will integrate SOLARWATT’s solar panels and Stiebel Eltron’s heat pumps to deliver unparalleled optimisation during changing weather conditions on a day-to-day basis.
The EM Trend provides optimised use of solar power to operate heat pumps and delivers efficient use of real energy surplus from the PV system.
Meanwhile, the EM Trend will work alongside the Manager flex to look ahead at weather forecasts and will apply dynamic adjustments in real time.
For example, where cold weather is predicted the EM Trend will store more heat in the buffer and hot water tanks to maximise efficiency and response times, helping to lower heating and hot water preparation costs by using solar power to do this.
As a result, the two systems combined will optimise energy consumption in response to changing weather conditions to utilise energy generated from SOLARWATT’s solar panels more effectively.
A first-of-its-kind offering to the UK, the partnership has a proven track record, having been implemented successfully in Germany, where both companies are originally based.
As well as offering an all-encompassing renewable energy product offering for British homeowners, Stiebel Eltron UK and SOLARWATT, which has over 30 years of experience in the solar sector, will work collaboratively to expand each other’s customer base.
Additionally, the two companies will share best practices and expertise with each other via training programmes, so they are well placed to inform installers and consumers about what the package offers.
Headquartered in Bromborough, Wirral, Stiebel Eltron UK has been a driving force behind the adoption of renewable heating solutions, such as heat pumps, across the UK.
As well as providing the latest and most innovative technologies, the company shares industry knowledge with comprehensive training that empowers installers with the expertise to fit them.
Mark McManus, Stiebel Eltron UK Managing Director, said: “Delivering renewable energy solutions is at the heart of what we do at Stiebel Eltron, and this partnership represents a significant milestone on the journey towards sustainable, green housing across the UK.
“Combining SOLARWATT’s revolutionary solar technology with our heat pumps is a unique proposition to the UK market, offering an innovative, end-to-end energy solution which will power Britain’s homes.
“With their strong track record, partnering with SOLARWATT was a no-brainer and we’re excited to drive the adoption of renewable heating technologies together. For anyone interested in a complete energy system that will help them save carbon emissions and reduce costs, please get in touch.”
Pol Spronck, Solarwatt UK & Ireland Managing Director, said: “When it comes to heat pump technology, Stiebel Eltron is second to none. We’ve already had great success from our partnership with them in Germany, so our joint venture into the UK is a natural next step.
“This partnership will connect state-of-the-art technologies including premium quality modules, battery storage and energy management solutions to bring forward an all- encompassing, holistic approach to implementing renewable energy and represents the future for delivering sustainable homes across the country.”
