Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. (IES), a leading solar energy development and construction firm, announced it has been formally certified by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
The certification (VON 10090051), issued by the CPUC’s Supplier Clearinghouse, is designed to help regulated public utilities meet California market procurement goals for women (5%), minorities (15%) and service-disabled veterans (1.5%). IES will now be in the CPUC’s central database of suppliers and will be part of an early notification system for new projects.
