3E, a global energy consultancy and software product company has attracted new investors, strengthened its management team and continues the global roll-out of its consulting services and SynaptiQ software platform for renewable energy portfolio optimization.
3E was awarded a prestigious Gazelle prize in May, as the fastest growing SME in the Brussels region over the last 5 years.
The company has recently attracted € 10 million in new investment to further develop SynaptiQ, an independent monitoring and reporting platform which can enable performance increases of 2 to 7% for multi-technology renewable energy portfolios.
The software platform has recently been connected to the 165 MW Belwind offshore wind farm. Frank Coenen, CEO of Belwind, said of the system, “SynaptiQ provides us with intelligent, independent monitoring and improved reporting through a flexible and user friendly online platform”. Furthermore, it has this year been connected to over 250 large scale industrial PV parks in six countries.
The new strategy and diversification of 3E service offerings is supported by the company’s reinforced management team.
Bruce Douglas, the Chief Operating Officer of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), joined 3E as Sales and Marketing Director at the beginning of April. He worked at EWEA for 10 years before joining 3E and has over 15 years of senior business management, sales and marketing experience in the renewable energy sector.
