Ingeteam commissions its largest solar PV plant in France, with 87.5 MWp

On 19 October 2021, Dhamma Energy inaugurated the Athies-Samoussy PV solar plant located in the French region of Hauts-de-France. With a total installed capacity of 87.5 MWp, this project is one of the ten largest photovoltaic plants in France and is also the largest PV project to be supplied by Ingeteam to this country. For this solar plant, Ingeteam provided the PV inverters, MV transformer substations and performed the commissioning work for the project.

Located on the rehabilitated site of the former NATO Air Base at Laon-Athies, the plant groups together five solar parks spread across 100 hectares. All the parks are now fully operational and their total annual production will be around 93 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of some 40,000 French households.

Dhamma Energy obtained a feed-in tariff for the Athies-Samoussy plant through a tender issued by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in 2018 and selected Grupo Ortiz as a partner to perform the Full EPC work. The construction of the plant started in early 2020.

Patrice Casamayou, director of PV activities, energy storage and e-mobility for the French branch of Ingeteam, stated that “I am really proud of the great teamwork performed by the Ingeteam personnel, and I would like to thank Dhamma Energy and Grupo Ortiz for the trust placed in us”.

The plant at Athies-Samoussy expands the portfolio of the Italian energy group, Eni, which acquired the business of Dhamma Energy in Spain and France in October 2021. Through its subsidiary Eni gas e luce, the energy group currently holds 120 MWp in power plants in operation in France and has a solar portfolio under development of almost 3 GWp in France and Spain.
