Make the connection

The world’s premier networking event dedicated to the offshore wind sector, OFFSHORE 2013 is an unmissable diary entry for every industry executive. PES presents an exclusive preview.

Held from 19-21 November at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, EWEA OFFSHORE, the world’s largest offshore wind energy conference and exhibition, presents an international platform for the offshore wind energy industry to showcase and demonstrate their latest products and service.
As well as an extensive exhibition, the conference programme covers a whole range of issues affecting the offshore wind energy industry. This biennial event provides a meeting place for the whole of the offshore wind energy supply chain.
Just how big is it?

Growing since its beginning, this event is now the world’s largest offshore wind energy conference and exhibition. The 2011 edition attracted more than 480 exhibitors and over 8,200 participants. In the past this event has been extremely successful due to the wide-spread attendance from the whole of the supply chain and cross-over between industries within the offshore sector.

The supply chain for the offshore wind industry is evolving rapidly. The market promise underpinned by ambitious national programmes, particularly in the UK and Germany, has sparked an enormous volume of industrial interest as well as a significant amount of new investment in plants and facilities. Why Frankfurt?

For the first time, EWEA will hold the conference and exhibition in Frankfurt. Financing offshore is becoming more and more of a challenge, so EWEA has chosen to meet in the hometown of the European Central bank. Frankfurt is Europe’s biggest European financial capital, and a truly international business location. Messe Frankfurt is one of the most attractive and modern exhibition halls in Europe and has excellent transport links to the rest of Europe.
Who’s organising it?

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), based in Brussels, Belgium has represented the interests of the European wind energy industry for more than 30 years.

On the one hand, EWEA is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide, to the general public, political decision-makers, businesses and universities. But first of all, it is a service provider to 700 members from almost 60 countries. With its in-depth knowledge of the industry, EWEA informs its members with its expertise, provides advice, and supports them.
