We’ve welcomed DBB Jack-Up Services A/S to the magazine before and now is the perfect time to catch-up with them once again, given that they’ve just taken delivery of a wind-dedicated newbuild and have enjoyed a very fruitful 12-month period. We spoke to Ole Jacob Nielsen, Head of Sales & Marketing.
PES: Welcome back to PES. For the benefit of new readers, would you like to reacquaint us with your business and how it’s particularly suited to the wind sector?
Ole Jacob Nielsen: DBB Jack-Up is proud of its ‘Can do. Will do.’ attitude and has a passion for offshore wind. The company has 25 years of experience and focuses on Operations & Maintenance, decommissioning and installation support services. With a fleet of three purpose-built jack-up vessels, the company is capable of handling turbines small and large in both shallow and deep water locations.
PES: We’ve bid farewell to 2014. Was it a year to remember for DBB Jack-Up?
OJN: DBB Jack-Up had a 2014 full of interesting events. We concluded negotiations with Siemens Wind Power for the industry-first long term charter of an O&M Jack-Up, our new build J/U WIND SERVER. We secured a framework contract with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind and we have supported E.On on their first major component replacements under a new strategic set-up (see panel). And, finally 2014 ended on a high note for DBB Jack-Up as we took delivery of the J/U WIND SERVER just before Christmas (see panel two).
