A familiar face both in the pages of PES and within the industry at large, A2SEA’s Jens Frederik Hansen joins us once again to discuss the company’s latest projects, how it dovetails with CT Offshore, and his commitment to maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards.
PES: Welcome back to PES. Would you like to bring new readers up to speed with your company and the service you provide to the wind industry?
Jens Frederik Hansen: Absolutely. We’re the world leader in offshore wind installation and service solutions at a wide variety of locations. We are the offshore wind industry’s most experienced provider of: foundation transport & installation; turbine transport & installation; and Operations & Maintenance logistics.
And if you’re looking for a transport, installation or service provider that can deliver what you need safely, on time and on budget, then A2SEA is your best choice. We care most about the smooth-running of projects and about minimising the risks and costs of wind farm installation and maintenance.
Ultimately though, what counts is the end result of all our efforts: clean, green energy for today and for generations to come.
Unlike many marine contractors, we don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions. We don’t want our customers to pay for services they don’t need. Or be left with a single-vessel answer when a flexible fleet is what’s really required. Instead, we share our know-how to determine the best equipment and approach for a smooth-running project.
PES: When we spoke with you last time, you were positive about the future, with the Gode Wind 1+2 project on the horizon. Are you still on track?
JFH: Yes we are. We are working on two big projects right now then we begin working on Gode Wind 1+2 in June, with a service type contract following shortly after. I am pretty happy with the order books at the moment and our pipeline is looking strong for future work.
PES: How is work progressing with the Westermost Rough project? Can you tell us about your involvement with this?
JFH: This is a big project for us and we are doing very well so far. Basically, we are installing all the turbines and we are just over halfway there. There have been the usual minor delays that occur with a project of this size, but nothing we can’t deal with and we are back on track. Crossing the North Sea in winter time is no mean feat, but it is actually going quite well.
