PES met up with Ruud Ringoir, Product Manager at Kipp & Zonen and asked him about the current solar energy market. He was very enthusiastic about their new, all in one solar monitoring system, the RaZON+. It’s easy to use, affordable and low maintenance…..
PES: Welcome back to PES Solar/PV magazine. It’s great to talk with you again. For the benefit of our new readers would you like to begin by explaining a little about the background of your organisation and how you currently serve the solar/PV industry?
Ruud Ringoir: Kipp & Zonen is based in Delft, the Netherlands. Originating from a pharmaceutical company in 1830, we are now market leader in radiation sensors for the meteorological market and solar industry. We have offices and exclusive distributors to support our local customers in more than 40 countries.
Over the last decade we have moved our focus towards the PV and CSP Industry, developing new products to accommodate their standards and interfaces.
PES: Is solar/PV still a growing industry? How are you capitalising on this growth?
RR: Solar energy is a growing market. There have been changes based on local incentives, feed in tariffs and laws or regulations, but as we sell our products worldwide, the average demand is increasing for us.
Providing accurate and stable instruments that have had proven track records for decades gives us an advantage. Sharing our knowledge with distributors and customers and providing them with the optimal advice for their specific application helps us to maintain growth and leadership in this industry.
