Dr. Peter Fath, CEO of RCT Solutions talks to PES about how RCT has grown in the PV industry over the last 4 years…
PES: Welcome PES Solar/PV magazine. Thanks for talking with us. Would you like to begin by explaining a little about the background of your organization
and how you currently serve the Solar/PV industry?
Peter Fath: I started our company with a management buyout in 2012. At that time I was CTO of centrotherm and responsible for the R&D and Turnkey department. Due the financial ups and downs I decided to branch out on my own way with the team which was supported by the rest of the centrotherm management
Today there are 30 employees in Constance dedicated to PV, all of them with more than 10 years’ experience in various fields of the value chain.
RCT serves the PV industry in three different businesses. The first business is the development of advanced solar cell concepts. The result of this work is used either for technology upgrades of existing lines or as part of a “turnkey” project for new customers. We are very proud, that we can offer PERC upgrades as well as PERCT single facial and bifacial cells, for both mono and multi. Our second major field, which is wet chemical equipment, uses this knowledge and the needs of future cell processes. We engineer and manufacture production tools, such as i-Side. Lastly our newly founded affiliate, RCT Power, comes from the inverter department of Sunways and continues to develop storage inverters including a battery storage system, RCT Power Tower.
