Upsolar, a leading international solar module supplier, today announced it has founded subsidiary Upsolar Italia SRL. Headquartered in Treviso, Italy, near Venice, the office will serve as the hub of Upsolar’s various projects throughout the country.
The first major project serviced through Upsolar Italia is a 7.3 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Alessandria for RAL Srl, a company instituted by hydropower producer Compagnia Valdostana delle Acque SpA (CVA SpA), and Renergetica Srl. One of the largest installations in the region, the project represents the first solar undertaking for Ansaldo T&D, a Genoa-based engineering and contracting company operating in the transmission and distribution business since 1984. ”Embarking on our first venture into the solar arena – especially with a project of this magnitude – we recognized the importance of partnering with a reliable module producer,” Massimo Ceroni, Ansaldo T&D Sales and Marketing Manager, said. “Upsolar’s high-quality polycrystalline modules are ideally suited to large PV power stations like the Alessandria park, and the support provided by their attentive team allowed for a seamless entry into the burgeoning Italian solar market.
