Spanish Wind Turbine Company To Build Milwaukee Factory

A company in Spain that makes generators for high-tech wind turbines will put a new factory in Milwaukee. Mayor Tom Barrett confirmed in his \”state of the city\” address Monday that Ingeteam will locate in the Menomonee Valley between downtown Milwaukee and the Miller Park baseball stadium. Julia Taylor of the Greater Milwaukee Committee says the new plant will create 270 jobs. Other details will be announced Tuesday.

The White House practically spilled the beans on Friday when it said Ingeteam got almost $1.7 million in federal green manufacturing tax credits for a Milwaukee plant. It said the plant would make wind turbine generators, as well as control systems and power converters. State, regional, and city officials visited the home city of Ingeteam last fall in Bilbao Spain.
