The online trading platform WINDSOURCING.COM displayed a five-fold increase in the range of wind energy technology and services it has on offer for the second quarter of 2014: from 2,300 to more than 12,000 wind energy products currently available. This makes it the largest sales portal for wind energy products globally.
“We are particularly pleased about having two further reputable manufacturers, Siemens and ABB on board in the range on offer,” is the word from Stefan Weber, the General Manager for WINDSOURCING.COM. “Our product portfolio comprises electronic components such as circuit breakers, relays and switches, but also includes large components such as rotor blades and gear mechanisms, as well as mechanical replacement parts. Additionally our portfolio includes materials for servicing and repairs such as special surface protection films from the manufacturer Vito Irmen for the servicing and repair of rotor blades. We as the dealer offer these to the wind energy industry exclusively.” The portal currently offers a total of around 40 item categories and new product groups are being added on a continuous basis. “The suppliers of wind energy technology are increasingly recognising the advantages of a shared sales platform for their products,” explains Weber. Simply put, the recipe for success is the mantra: “One-stop shop” This means customers need not to call up all the manufacturers and vendors individually, but their search gets them to their target with greater ease via a standardised platform, already saving them time and money in the ordering process. “In this way customers also become aware of products and manufacturers that they perhaps did not know of previously,” explains Weber. With this, business will also benefit from the stimulation of competition.
