Uptime International has entered into contract with the Spanish yard Astilleros Gondan for a active motion compensated gangway with an adjustable pedestal included.
The Service Operation Vessel(SOV) is a new design from Rolls Royce, developed in cooperation with Østensjø Rederi and Astilleros Gondan.
The focus in this design has been to increase light cargo logistics, making it possible to bring cargo directly from the storage under deck via an elevator and through the Uptime gangway to the TP/windturbine. The new vessel with the Uptime AMC gangway can accommodate up to 40 wind turbine service technicians in addition to 20 vessel crewmembers and will be based in Grimsby, UK where it will go in charter 1th September 2017 at the windfarm Race Bank that is operated by the Danish company Dong Energy.
Uptime has also signed two contracts for their 12m passive gangways. These are signed with the Australian company Tensa and the Dutch company Lagendijk. Both these 12m gangways are produced locally in cooperation with the Norwegian company Undertun Industri and is intended to be used within the oil & gas sector for crew change.
