05 July 2016. In June 2016 United Energies MTOI signed a license agree- ment for the establishment of a national wind industry in Kazakhstan. Wind industry development encompasses technology transfer and capacity buil- ding for the production of UE DirectDrive wind turbines in Kazakhstan and in the Caspian region. In 2012, the Kazakh capital Astana was chosen to host the Expo in 2017. Kazakhstan has favorable conditions for the use of renewable energy and has set aspiring objectives for the expansion of renewable energy, particular- ly in light of the upcoming Expo with the theme „Future Energy” – solutions for tackling mankind’s greatest challenge.
