Two Jack-Ups with one broker: JB-117 and Seajacks Leviathan fixed by GRS for DolWin gamma

GRS Global Renewables Shipbrokers showed expertise in sourcing Jack-Ups with more than 230 berths in total for Nordic Yards and General Electric.

After 2 years of preparation and more than 520 charter days we are very happy to be a part of this project”, GRS Managing Partner Philippe Schönefeld is pleased to say. For this project GRS structured tender documents and the tender process, brought vessel owners and charterers together and facilitated smooth and successful negotiations to a high satisfaction of all concerned by close and continuous dialogue and contact. “Keeping all parties satisfied is our main objective and we succeeded“, adds Schönefeld.

By chartering the self-elevating platform JB-117, Nordic Yards and General Electric could use up to 1.000 ton crane support and accommodation services during float over, installation, hook up and commissioning of the DolWin gamma converter station.

Seajacks self-propelled Jack-Up vessel Leviathan was chartered by General Electric and was utilized as an additional offshore hotel during peak time in summer 2017.

The DolWin gamma converter station is part of the 900 MW DolWin offshore grid connection system. Once completed by the end of 2018, the DolWin gamma will connect two offshore wind farms from the DolWin cluster to the substation in Dörpen West.
