Trojan Battery Expands Agm Line To Support A Wider Range Of Solar Applications

Trojan Battery Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of deep-cycle batteries, today announced expansion of its AGM product line for the renewable energy(RE) market space with the launch of the U1-AGMand 22-AGMmodels. The new deep-cycle AGM batteries address the power needs of renewable energy off-grid and grid-tied solar home systems, solar lighting, industrial and backup power applications that require daily battery cycling capabilities. The addition of the U1-AGM and 22-AGM models expands Trojan’s current AGM line to now feature a wider variety of battery sizes.

“As the global market for solar systems continues to grow, Trojan is expanding its RE battery offeringsto include products specifically designed for these unique applications,” said Bryan Godber, vice president of renewable energy at Trojan Battery Company. “Renewable energy systems rely on daily battery discharge and recharge cycling to power the system. The Trojan line of AGM batteries provides outstanding cycling characteristics, optimum performance and rugged durability. They are perfectly suited for a variety of renewable energy applications. “

The new U1-AGM and 22-AGM are designed to address a diverse range of solar applications from roadway and area lighting, traffic signs and security lighting, to off-grid and grid-tied solar home systems, industrial and backup power applications. In addition, the new AGM batteries are ideal for solar systems in remote locations which have no access to the grid or where it is too expensive to pull power to a particular area. In these applications reliable power and low maintenance are key factors that contribute to the overall performance and maintenance of the system.

The U1-AGM and the 22-AGM, along with Trojan’s full line of AGM batteries are maintenance-free and distinguished by a number of design elements that optimize performance. A unique combination of thick plates and grid design as well as a glass fiber separator provides high power density enhancing battery performance and extending the cycle life of the batteries. Trojan’s deep-cycle AGM batteries are low temperature tolerant, and shock and vibration resistant. They also have a low internal resistance for higher discharge current and higher charging efficiency making them the perfect choice for many applications.

“The new AGM batteries are designed with advanced technology that enables them to perform consistently with little maintenance,” Godber said. “In many regions of the world, these solar systems are exposed to challenging environmental conditions; therefore Trojan’s U1-AGM and 22-AGM are engineered to provide high-quality dependable performance ensuring that those applications function at the highest level. The addition of these new battery configurations enhances Trojan’s strategy to offer the broadest portfolio of high-quality, deep-cycle AGM products available for a wide range of renewable energy and backup power systems. “

Backed by more than 85 years of research and development of deep-cycle battery technology, Trojan’s U1-AGM and 22-AGM batteries are specifically designed to address the varying needs of solar applications. The company’s complete family of deep-cycle batteries provides superior performance, rugged durability and long life.
