The advanced carbon composite specialists, Danish Yachts A/S, are continuously pushing the boundaries of design, technology, innovation and construction in order to remain at the forefront of the wind industry with the development of their renowned high performance lightweight Cat-SWATH’s.
Today, Danish Yachts A/S are delighted to be launching a new 27m Cat-SWATH to their range which they believe is set to transform the stability, safety and crew comfort standards for all future crew transfer vessels (CTV’s) within the offshore sector.
The First and Second Generation...
In 2013, the Skagen based shipyard at the northern most tip of Denmark delivered four revolutionary all-carbon-fibre 24m Cat-SWATH vessels to its client ‘Odfjell Wind’, which are currently operated by A2SEA in multiple locations.
A further ‘second generation’ 24m Cat-SWATH was delivered in 2014 with many new features and enhancements. To mention but a few, the entire superstructure and hull was optimized boasting a 15% reduction in overall weight compared to the first generation, with improved seakeeping behaviour and lower fuel consumptions.
