The largest solar plant in Oceania is operating with Ingeteam inverters

Pamplona, 7th September, 2014. The Royalla Solar Farm, the largest PV plant in Oceania is now operating with Ingeteam’s medium voltage power stations. This plant, with a 20 MW rated power output, is the property of FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures) and is located 23 kilometres south of Canberra, the capital city of Australia. The solar farm, occupying almost 50 hectares, was recently opened by the Australian Capital Territory Energy Minister, Simon Corbell, together with the Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, José Manuel García-Margallo. Other important persons were also present at the ceremony, such as the Spanish ambassador for Australia, Mr Enrique Viguera.

Thanks to the twenty, 1 MW PowerMax inverters installed inside ten medium voltage power stations, this PV plant will be able to supply power to some 4,500 Australian homes. Ingeteam started to supply its power stations in mid September 2013.

Juan Miguel Gutiérrez, Managing Director of Ingeteam’s Australian subsidiary and who was also present at the opening, declared that the “Royalla plant is a major milestone for Australia and we’re thrilled that our technology has contributed to the success of this project. What’s more, we have every confidence that many more plants will be developed in this country, which has tremendous potential in the field of renewable energies, and PV solar energy in particular”.
