EUROPE: Leading sustainability summit, Planetiers World Gathering, has today announced its full agenda and special features to promote health and wellness. This year’s conference will offer insights on the intersection of well-being and sustainability from a range of expert speakers. Over 100 changemakers, innovators, and climate experts will gather for the 3-day conference in Aveiro, this year’s Portuguese Capital of Culture, on 27-29 October 2024. The event is expected to welcome over 17,000 virtual and in-person visitors from all over the world to engage in cutting-edge panel discussions, keynotes, and workshops. First launched in 2020, Planetiers World Gathering aims to help changemakers connect and highlight long-term sustainable solutions amid the climate crisis.
After four years of successful events, Planetiers World Gathering has become a hub for sustainability discussions and positioned Portugal as an attractive country for environmental investment. The 2024 agenda aims to highlight pressing challenges to sustainability and raise awareness of the need for long-term solutions to counteract global issues. Beyond that, this year’s conference will also shed light on sustainability and wellness with experts in female empowerment, health, and mindfulness. A number of speakers will be taking part in this year’s event including:
- Isabel Silva, founder of the doBem channel where she produces daily content on health and well-being
- Andja Lorein, counsellor, influencer, humanitarian and freedom advocate who promotes female empowerment
- We’e’ena Tikuna, indigenous leader, fashion designer, TED Speaker, and activist from the Tikuna Umariaçu village in the Amazon.
- David Simas, Managing Director of Research and Impact at Emerson Collective, an organisation focused on education, immigration reform, the environment, media and journalism, and health.
- Sathia Tripathi, Secretary General of the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet
- Cláudia Pedra, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Stone Soup, a consultancy firm that works to strengthen organisations that are seeking to increase their social impact
- Harriet Gibson, human rights and international development expert
According to research from The European House and Angelini Pharma, 78 percent of Europeans agree that environmental issues directly affect their lives and health. The research also showed that younger people, aged 16 to 25, seem to be especially vulnerable, with 45 percent reporting that eco-anxiety significantly impacts their daily lives through anxiety and distress. Planetiers World Gathering 2024 aims to deep dive into sustainability and wellness to help promote feasible solutions for a better future.
