Hamburg/Germany, 12th May 2015 – Suncycle presents a new service offer for electroluminescence (EL) inspection on mounted solar panels. Using the new measuring technology Suncycle CTU flexEL, which was developed by Suncycle together with a leading German research institution, for the first time EL measurements can be done in daylight during normal operating hours. This allows detecting micro cracks and breaks, potential-induced degradation (PID), hot spots and other damages on solar panels in a particularly efficient way.

The Suncycle CTU flexEL is equipped with high-resolution EL cameras and provides valid-in-court measurement results at lab level. It is suitable to be used for all common panel shapes and owns an own battery-supported power supply without external cables. Its weight amounts to less than 20 kilogrammes. These characteristics ensure a high degree of flexibility and facilitate handling. Hence, measurement accuracy is increased, operating process is accelerated and costs are reduced.
Suncycle has already been offering EL-measurements and performance tests by means of the mobile test laboratory (CTU test lab) directly on site since 2012. The new test procedure now offers additional optimisations in use: “Using the new method on the basis of our CTU flexEL electroluminescence measurements take less than 30 seconds per solar panel and there is no time needed for dismounting and remounting of the solar panels. In contrast to conventional test procedures these measurements now can be executed even during the day in daylight so that expense and work are reduced additionally. There are no special organisational preparations or supplements for nightshift working necessary”, highlights Christian Straub, Managing Director at Suncycle.
Dismounting-free measurements in daylight can now be ordered at Suncycle and can be executed all over Europe.
You can find Suncycle during the Intersolar 2015 from 10th to 12th June 2015 on the exhibition site in Munich in hall A3, stand 154.
