Solon Module Awarded An Overall Very Good By Ko Test Consumer Magazine

The SOLON Blue 230/07 has been awarded an overall rating of “very good” by Germany’s Öko-Test consumer magazine. SOLON’s product is one of six winners in the test having received the top grade. A total of 17 solar modules from manufacturers in Germany and abroad were tested. Seven other modules received a rating of “good,” one received “satisfactory,” another “fair,” and yet two others were awarded a rating of “poor.” The test results for SOLON will be published in the May issue of Öko-Test.

The solar modules were evaluated in an extensive series of performance tests. The modules were subjected to a range of irradiance values and temperatures, and electroluminescent and thermal imaging cameras were used to inspect for cracking and soiling. The SOLON module passed the test with flying colors and received an overall rating of “very good.” “The fact that we did so well in this testing only confirms the fact that SOLON is and remains the No. 1 address for customers looking for premium quality, no matter if it is a solar energy system on the roof, a turnkey project for a large-scale solar power plant, or a financial product using solar energy,” states Stefan Säuberlich, CEO of SOLON SE.

SOLON has its own testing laboratories that are equipped with state-of-the-art technology in order to guarantee this high level of quality. Each individual component is subjected to the strict approval process of SOLON’s quality management system. The performance and long-term durability of the solar modules are tested under a wide variety of climatic conditions at testing sites for ground-mounted systems in Berlin (Germany), Carmignano die Brenta (Italy), and Tucson, Arizona (U.S.). We have an international team of technology experts working on ways to continually enhance manufacturing processes and develop new products that are innovative, demonstrate high-performance, and oriented to the application. In 2009 SOLON already received several awards underlining this fact: For example, the roof-integrated module SOLON Black 160/05 won the 1st prize in the Innovation Competition held at the acclaimed PV Symposium in Bad Staffelstein, Germany. In the same year, it received the Intersolar Award as well.
