SOLON and Paul Bauder GmbH & Co. KG, the leading European manufacturer of roof systems, have entered into a sales cooperation agreement. This was announced today by Bauder general manager Paul-Herrmann Bauder on occasion of the trade fair “Dach und Holz” in Stuttgart. In the future these companies will jointly offer a photovoltaic solution for flat roofs sealed with bitumen or plastic. This solution, the SOLON system SOLfixx, is specifically designed for flat roofs with reduced load bearing capacities and can be mounted without ballasting or roof penetration.
As part of their partnership, SOLON and Bauder are offering a product the likes of which have never been seen before: The substructure of the module is welded to the roof sheeting – in full compliance with the warranties for both the roof and the PV system.
The SOLON SOLfixx in combination with Bauder roof membranes is an ideal solution for anyone who wants to build or replace a flat roof with photovoltaics. “About 90 percent of all industrial flat roofs in Germany are sealed with bitumen or plastic membranes,” says Stefan Säuberlich, CEO of SOLON SE. “The SOLON SOLfixx was specifically developed for those kinds of roofs. Thanks to our cooperation with the industry leader Bauder, we can tap into an enormous market.”
In each project SOLON will oversee PV system planning and design and supply both inverters and cables. The warranties for roofs and PV system substructures are valid for 15 years; the SOLON SOLfixx comes with a 10-year product warranty and a 25-year staggered performance guarantee.
