SoliTek, Lithuania, Presents 100 % PID-Free Solar Modules, Solar cells produced on SINGULUS’ turnkey line

  • 25 % more output
  • Cells and modules “Made in Europe”
  • PERC upgrade being prepared

Kahl am Main, June 10, 2014 – The Lithuania-based companies BOD Group, ViaSolis and Baltic Solar Energy were combined and under the new corporate name SoliTek present poly-crystalline solar cells, glass-glass PV modules and complete PV system solutions “Made in Europe”. SoliTek’s factory is the first factory for solar cells and PV modules newly built in Europe since 2008.

The cell production line was completed by SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES in the fourth quarter 2013.

SoliTek announced that it is the first factory worldwide to use a specific PIB rim sealing for the production of the innovative, only 5 mm thick glass-glass PV modules. This technology enables longevity of the modules of more than 30 years. In combination with the crystalline cells by SoliTek it is possible to increase the output by up to 25 % compared with traditional PV modules. The PV module SoliTek was one of the four most innovative products in the course of the Intersolar Award 2014.

The solar cells from the SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES line are 100 % PID-free due to SINGULUS specifically designed coating technology (Potential Induced Degradation is a power-induced output degradation caused by so-called leakage currents. This negative effect can cause output losses of up to 30 %.)

In addition, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES has already delivered the upgrade machines to Lithuania for the improvement of the cell efficiency pursuant to the PERC principles.

Profile SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES’ goal is the technologic leadership in the segments Optical Disc, Solar and Semiconductor as well as the use of synergies to open new work areas in the future. In this process SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES focuses on solutions that are not only economical, but also sustainable and resource-efficient.

In the Optical Disc segment SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES continues to expand its market leadership and today is already able to offer machines, which enable the production of triple-layer Blu-ray Disc wit a storage volume of about 100 GB in total.

In the Solar segment SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES is a supplier for new production solutions for crystalline and thin-film solar cells, which with lower production costs increase the level of efficiency or achieve a higher level of efficiency. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES establishes itself in this market as a development partner and machine supplier for technologies enabling a sustainable and chosen energy provision on the basis of renewable energies.

In the Semiconductor segment SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES focuses its activities on the vacuum coating of wafers with ultra thin layers for the manufacturing of MRAM memory, thin-film write/read heads, sensors and other semiconductor applications.

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES is continuously expanding its technologic know-how in the areas vacuum coating, automation, process technology as well as the integration of production steps in order to open further, attractive work areas. In this context, internal growth from the development of proprietary solutions as well as acquisition opportunities for the generation of external growth are analyzed with respect to their feasible implementation. reasonable impoizato their reasonable realizatng, automation, process technology and integrarti
