SoLayTec receives prestigious International solar award for its product "InPassion ALD"

Three years after starting SoLayTec, the company received its first international solar award. This award was presented during the EU PVSEC exhibition and conference, which was held last week in Paris.

For SoLayTec it’s an honour to receive this prestigious International solar industry award for the category PV Process. This is a clear sign that our product InPassion ALD is becoming well known in the market and that our customers appreciate the advantage of our unique equipment.

Director sales solar at RENA, mr Gerhard Vilsmeier, director of sales RENA China, mrs Jennifer Wu and director sales and co-founder of SoLayTec, mr Roger Görtzen, joined the award ceremony in Paris last week.

Votes were casted by customers, vendors and other related parties across the entire PV value chain, in a recognition of the achievement of SoLayTec and its employees. They are committed and will continue to support our customers to achieve higher efficiencies at the lowest costs.

“The EU PVSEC was for RENA and SoLayTec a great exhibition with interesting discussions with our customers. Their main challenge now is to transfer the Al2O3 solution into mass production which requires further cost reductions. Deposition methods like PECVD which require thicker layers of AlOx are too costly due to the extremely high usage of TMA precursor materials. Further, batch ALD is expensive due to its high investment level. Spatial ALD, on the other side, is the best in class for cost of ownership (CoO). SoLayTec offers its flexible InPassion ALD product for deposition of up to 5000 wph realising a CoO far below 2€ct per wafer. Layer thickness flexibility without hardware changes, service during production, and its scalable platform are the most important features.” commented Roger Görtzen.

He further added: “Together with SoLayTec RENA now offers the complete turnkey solution for PERC, named “InPERC” technology. This enables efficiencies of > 18% for multi and > 20% for mono lines and is offered as an upgrade package for current lines or as complete solution for new lines.”
