iel, April 28, 2014 – Sputnik Engineering, the Swiss manufacturer of SolarMax inverters, has revealed that over 65MW of their inverters have been successfully installed in the first quarter of 2014.
Five ground-mounted solar projects have been commissioned in time to qualify for the higher 1.6 ROC subsidy under the Renewable Obligation scheme, with further sites also under construction. The total installed capacity of over 65MW will generate enough electricity to power over 25,000 UK homes.
The successful installations involved the deployment of SolarMax engineers to each of the sites to provide support throughout the installation and commissioning process and to help ensure that systems were connected in time to achieve the important 1.6 ROC deadline.
Commenting on the achievement, Martin Allman, UK Regional Manager for Sputnik Engineering (SolarMax), said: “We are delighted that all of the solar farms were delivered, installed and commissioned on schedule. This success is in no small part down to the excellent on-site collaboration and professionalism of SolarMax engineers in spite of the usual problems with adverse weather and difficult site conditions.”
The inverters installed at each of the sites were the SolarMax 720TS-SV Compact Stations which have proved popular with UK plant builders due to their high quality build and lightweight, compact design.
SolarMax reports that it has a significant pipeline for the new ROC year with new products set to be launched. Allman comments: “In addition to the increasing popularity of our TS-SV central inverter solutions, we are also seeing huge interest in our new 30/32kW HT string inverter which is available in the UK from June this year.”
SolarMax will be presenting all its inverter solutions as a sponsor of the Large Scale Solar UK conference to be held at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire on 29 April to 1 May 2014.
