Shortlist announced for prestigious Scottish Green Energy Awards

The Scottish Green Energy Awards has today (Oct 17) announced the shortlist for the UK’s largest and most prestigious celebration of the renewable energy industry.

This year’s awards, headline sponsored by EDF Renewables UK, will bring together an unprecedented number of guests to recognise and honour the achievements of those whose revolutionary work is securing Scotland’s future prosperity.

Wind, low-carbon heat and hydro projects feature on this year’s shortlist along with community hubs and individuals nominated by their peers.

The Scottish Green Energy Awards, run by leading industry body Scottish Renewables, are an annual celebration of the organisations, people and projects shaping Scotland’s clean energy future.

The awards see more than 50 individuals, companies and projects contest to scoop prizes in 14 prestigious categories at a 1,700-guest ceremony on December 5 in Edinburgh.

Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said:

“Once again, the calibre of entries for The Scottish Green Energy Awards has been nothing short of exceptional.

“Shortlisting finalists is always a challenge for our expert judging panel, and this year was no exception, with a remarkable range of high-quality nominations from across the renewable energy industry.

“The finalists this year exemplify our industry’s unwavering commitment to setting new standards through innovation, determination and skill.

“I look forward to celebrating the impressive contributions of our industry to both the economy and the environment at the UK’s biggest-ever celebration of renewable energy on December 5 in Edinburgh.”

Matthieu Hue, Chief Executive of EDF Renewables UK, said:

“The Scottish Green Energy Awards continues to be one of the most anticipated events on the renewable energy industry’s calendar. EDF Renewables UK is delighted to once again be headline sponsor of the event.

“Many congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted in the various award categories this week. We look forward to celebrating the many achievements and milestones from over the past 12 months at the ceremony in Edinburgh.”
