Hamburg, February 6, 2025 – Due to challenging conditions in the European solar market, Sharp has made the decision to close its European solar business (Sharp Energy Solutions Europe – SESE) after 30 years of operation. The solar division is part of Sharp Electronics GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. The final day of SESE’s operations will be March 31, 2025. Until then, the solar division will remain responsible for managing any ongoing projects, orders, or final requirements for its range of solar panels and related products.
As of April 1, 2025, Sharp Electronics GmbH will continue to provide customer service. All product and power output guarantees will remain valid for the duration of the guarantee period and will be managed and supported by Sharp Electronics GmbH.
This decision does not impact any other part of Sharp’s operations in Europe or Sharp’s remaining solar business.
