From June 15-17, 2011, and from June 22-24, 2011, SGS will be attending both the Offshore Wind China 2011 Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai and Wind Power Asia 2011 in Beijing. Throughout both events, SGS will showcase its wide portfolio of services for the renewable energy sector, including Coating Inspection and Failure Analysis as well as Commissioning and In-Service Inspections.
SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, will be making its first attendance at the Offshore Wind China 2011 Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai, and at the Wind Power Asia 2011 in Beijing, both of which are leading renewable energy events in Asia.
From June 15-17, 2011, SGS will be taking part in the Offshore Wind China 2011 Conference and Exhibition in Shanghai. At stand no. E4-B020 in Shanghai’s New International Expo Center, SGS Industrial Services will present the wide range of services it has on offer for the renewable energy sector.
Offshore Wind China 2011 is one of the leading offshore wind events in Asia. Based on the success of the previous three conferences in 2007, 2009 and 2010, Offshore Wind China 2011 provides a perfect meeting place for offshore wind industry leaders from China and abroad. The entire event comprises both a conference and an exhibition. The exhibition will take place at Shanghai’s New International Expo Center from June 15-17, 2011, and it will take up the whole of the 20,000 sq.m available. The conference is to be held in the newly built Pudong Shangri-La Kerry Hotel and 800 persons are anticipated to attend.
The conference and exhibition present an exciting opportunity for SGS to showcase its wide portfolio of services for the renewable energy sector, including Coating Inspection and Failure Analysis. In addition, SGS’ expert, Jo Van Montfort, will hold a particularly pertinent presentation on SGS Coating and Corrosion Inspection Services on June 16, 2011, at the conference to be held at Pudong Shangri-La Kerry Hotel.
With Coating Inspection and Failure Analysis, SGS inspects the coating work and investigates the causes of coating failures such as concrete decay, corrosion and loosening adhesive coats, in order to ensure the durability of structures and components as well as avoid large repair costs and lengthy downtime. Based on its extensive experience and competence, SGS Industrial Services provides Coating Inspection and Failure Analysis for the assessment of coatings in ferrous-steel, stainless-steel, aluminum, concrete, brick and plastic. These materials can be tested for conformity, compatibility and performance. Moreover, SGS inspects the surface preparation and application of coating work, concrete renovation, insulation and plastering by performing random inspections in its laboratories, at its workshops and on construction sites.
From June 22-24, 2011, SGS will be attending another renewable energy event – Wind Power Asia Conference 2011 at the National Convention Center in Beijing, China. Throughout the entire event, attendees will have a unique chance to learn more about the complexity of various SGS’ Renewable Energy Services. Furthermore, Senior Wind Turbine Inspector Onshore and Offshore at SGS, Olaf Robenek, will give a presentation on SGS In-Service Inspections Services on June 23, 2011.
Wind Power Asia 2011, as part of Clean Energy Expo China, is the longest running and one of the most authoritative wind power exhibitions in China. Held annually since 2003, Wind Power Asia has now become a towering event in the Chinese wind power market. Industry professionals from all over the world get together in Beijing every year with a view to meeting potential business partners and presenting their services.
The three-day event presents a unique occasion for SGS to present to the participants a wide range of its services for the onshore renewable energy sector, including Commissioning and In-Service Inspections.
SGS’s Commissioning and In-Service Inspections involve a series of activities in which the various components of a wind turbine are regularly inspected and monitored throughout their entire operational lifetime. Using a system of diverse inspection methods and analyses ensures that any unexpected degradation from normal operational conditions is detected as early as possible in order to prevent consequent damage to wind turbines.
SGS very much looks forward to attending Offshore Wind China 2011 and Wind Power Asia 2011 and hopes to convince the attendees that its range of services and the breadth of its expertise are practically unrivalled.
