Saneg completes first stage construction of solar power plant in Andijan region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan – 24 January, 2025 – Saneg, the largest private oil and gas company in Uzbekistan, has completed the first stage construction of the Khodjaobod photovoltaic power plant (PVP) in the Andijan region.

Located in the eastern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern Uzbekistan, the project forms part of a company strategy to develop renewable energy sources in the country.

In the first phase, the plant will have a total rated capacity of 3 MW (DC) from a framework of 5,000 solar panels, with 20 inverter transformer substations used to convert and supply electrical power to the country’s grid network.

Ultimately, the expected annual electricity generation at this stage is 6 million kWh, with the resulting energy used to supply the company’s production facilities and general infrastructure in the region.

“The launch of the first stage of the Khojaobod solar power plant is an important step forward in the development of our energy projects. This facility will generate valuable and sustainable electricity, and demonstrates the potential of solar power generation in the region. In the near future, we plan to add a second stage expansion of the solar power plant, which will increase the capacity of the plant to 5 MW,” said Tulkin Yusupov, General Director of Saneg.
