Saint-gobain Launches Solarbond Readyframe At Intersolar Europe 2012

Custom Tape-in-Frame Solution Helps Module Makers Reduce Costs and Enhance Efficiency

Chaineux, Belgium (18 April, 2012) – To help module manufacturers remain competitive on today’s highly volatile solar market, Saint-Gobain Solar will launch its SolarBond® ReadyFrame solution for cost-effective module framing at the Intersolar Europe 2012 in Munich, Germany, 13-15 June 2012 (Booth # A5.380).
SolarBond® ReadyFrame is a custom tape-in-frame solution designed to streamline the module framing process by removing the extra steps needed to add a sealant or a tape to the frame. This ultimately helps manufacturers boost cost-savings, operational efficiency and sustainability on the line. Experts from Saint-Gobain Solar will be providing regular demonstrations of SolarBond® ReadyFrame at the company’s booth. Full details on the post-production process and other benefits behind the new offering will be made available at the time of the show.

“We created SolarBond® ReadyFrame to provide small-to-medium module manufacturers with a cost-effective framing solution that delivers a high-quality product quickly, easily and without making changes to their existing production line,” said Geoffrey King, Market Manager, Renewable Energy, Saint-Gobain Solar. “With a new innovation under our belt, we’re looking forward to a productive show.”

In addition to the launch of SolarBond® ReadyFrame, Saint-Gobain Solar will showcase other offerings from its SolarBond® portfolio. SolarBond® InFrame, an intelligent, innovative and instant solution for solar module manufacturing, will be on display. The unique foamable material, which is applied warm in a single continuous motion, ensures both accuracy and high bonding strength immediately after contact with the frame. SolarBond® Frame Tapes will also be exhibited. The tapes provide a UL listed and TϋV certified solution to reducing labor costs, material waste and the downtime associated with curing silicone sealants.

Outside of the module framing process, Saint-Gobain will highlight SolarBond® Membrane for efficient PV panel lamination. Constructed from a modified silicone-rubber material, this innovative technology platform ensures the protection of the module and the lamination equipment in extreme temperatures and challenging manufacturing environments, it offers increased service life and, therefore, reduces downtime and minimizes costs.
