Safe, high quality and environmentally friendly: Deutsche Windtechnik achieves triple certification from DNV GL

Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. passed the certification audit performed by independent international auditor DNV GL in June. For a whole week the auditors examined quality, industrial safety and environmental management at company headquarters in Edinburgh and two complete wind farms. The certificates attest that the British subsidiary of Deutsche Windtechnik AG fulfils all the quality, health, safety and environmental protection (QHSE) requirements.

The QHSE department at Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. in Edinburgh has steadily developed the appropriate management systems since November 2015 in order to conform to the international occupational health and safety standard (OSHAS 18001: 2007), quality management (ISO 9001: 2015) and environmental management (ISO 14001:2015) standards.

Commendation for emergency response

“We are one of the first wind firms to fulfil the requirements of the new versions issued in 2015. This will help us in the expansion of our activities in the United Kingdom”, says a pleased Steven King, QHSE manager at Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd. To assure continuous quality, DNV GL examines the compliance with the standards every nine months.

Occupational safety is especially dear to the heart of QHSE officer King: his department has developed an app that won the company second place at the renowned RenewableUK Energy Health and Safety Award.
