RIMAS developments at PV SEC Hamburg

During the PV SEC exhibition in Hamburg, RIMAS will present a prototype of the unique INTERCONNECTION TESTER. This device has been developed to check the interconnection quality between cells and the quality of ribbon connections in general. It can detect broken or weak connections, without making contact with the object.

The tester can be used in an inline and offline production environment, as a pre lamination tester when string repair is still possible and an optimum module efficiency can be obtained. Also, thanks to a hand held model, it can be used for quality inspections in the field.

This Interconnection Tester is especially unique because it’s contactless, which makes it an efficient, non destructive and user-friendly failure tracing device. The prototype, that will we presented to the public in Hamburg for the first time, is a co-development of TNO and RIMAS Technology Group.

RIMAS Head of Sales Ronald Ceulemans: “Insufficient interconnection quality is a hazard for module efficiency, leading to loss of profit. Therefore this device can be a valuable insurance policy for production companies. In Hamburg we aim to get feedback from production specialists for finalizing this development. We have a working prototype on our booth, which is basically a hand held scanner that can be tested on a demonstration panel”.
