Higher feed-in tariff for semi-integrated mounting systems
Cologne, Germany, 5 February 2014 – The ETN certification held by Renusol’s mounting system MetaSole has been extended to include the SolarWorld module series, Sunmodule Plus SW Poly. Solar installations with this certified product combination are acclaimed in France as semi-integrated systems, which means they receive a higher feed-in tariff. The certificate was issued by the prestigious Bureau Alpes Contrôles testing institute. In summer last year, MetaSole received the ETN certification for enabling the mounting of modules produced by the manufacturers BenQ, CSUN, Centrosolar, Jiawei, Jinko und Yingli Solar.

Semi-integrated solar installations receive 14.55 euro cents instead of just 7.55 euro cents for every kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity that they feed into the power grid. Furthermore, photovoltaic installations with certified components are more readily accepted by insurance companies. In particular, plants on public pieces of land and larger installations, which must be put out to public tender when they have a capacity of at least 100 kilowatts peak (kWp), are more likely to be accepted when they boast ETN certification. MetaSole was tested alongside the trapezoidal sheet metal produced by the company Profil C. Many insurance companies also accept solar installations that feature similar modules mounted using MetaSole onto a trapezoidal sheet metal roof.
“We’re delighted that the combination of MetaSole and the SolarWorld module has been officially recognised as achieving the highest possible reliability,” explains Stefan Ast, Head of Marketing at mounting system manufacturer Renusol, which is headquartered in Cologne, Germany, and represented across Europe and the USA. “MetaSole is one of our most sought-after products. It consists of few components and doesn’t come with mounting rails, so it is one of the cheapest systems on the market and is very quick to assemble. All of the components needed to mount a solar plant with a capacity of 5 kWp fit into a shoe box, which keeps storage and transport costs to a minimum.”
