RENA transfers SoLayTec shares to Tempress

• RENA transfers its share in SoLayTec to Tempress
• The technological cooperation between both companies RENA and SoLayTec will continue
• For PERC-technologies RENA offers equipment for backside polishing, smoothing and cleaning

Gütenbach, 29.12.2014:At the end of the year RENA transfers its share in SoLayTec to Tempress, Amtech Group, Netherlands.
“RENA will set its focus on its expertise in wet chemical processing equipment for the solar cell production and of course in the further development of production equipment for high efficiency solar cells”, Jürgen Gutekunst, CEO RENA says. “Especially for PERC-technologies RENA delivers equipment for the backside polishing, smoothing and cleaning.”

This new constellation is benefical for the three parties involved. Adding SoLayTec’s technology for ultrathin Al2O3 passivation layers to the portfolio certainly makes sense for Tempress. At the same time RENA profits from the further longterm technological partnership with both partners. This deal enables SoLayTec a wider penetration of the market. Atomic layer deposition and the corresponding wet chemical processes for surface preparation provided by RENA will play an important role in both p- and n-type solar cell production.
