Peikko Group’s Norwegian sales office Peikko Norge AS has received a substantial order to supply rock foundation technology to Guleslettene wind park, located in the municipals of Flora and Bremanger, in the western region of Norway. Peikko will deliver all steel components for the 47 foundations of the wind park. The deliveries comprise FATBAR rock anchors, tower adapter plates with tower connection bolts, drilling templates and an assembling system, and special reinforcement steel technology. Peikko is also responsible for the foundation design and structural calculations. Deliveries are scheduled to take place between March and November 2019. The wind park is estimated to be operational by the end of 2020.
The project developer in this undertaking is Zephyr, who is also responsible for the project implementation on behalf of their investor BlackRock, the world’s biggest asset management firm. Vestas will deliver 47 pieces of their V136-4.2 MW turbines with a hub height of 90 meters. Stangeland Maskin AS has been assigned to the civil work of the infrastructure, with the establishment of internal roads, hardstands, and preparation of the wind turbine location spots. Their subcontractor NCC Florø will perform the technical assembly of steel components and casting works of Peikko’s Rock Anchor Foundations. The energy production for the next 15 years has been sold to Alcoa Norway, who wishes to develop a more sustainable aluminum industry using renewable energy for their Norwegian facilities.
“Peikko is proud to continue as a trusted supplier for the remarkable wind park projects in Norway. Our solutions are both reliable and time-saving, and we can also provide our customers important cost-savings in materials used. Being part of green energy production supports our goals for a more sustainable way to design and build”, comments Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
Peikko’s onshore wind turbine foundation system optimizes the use of steel and concrete and reduces time in all parts of the process. Our foundation solution is flexible; it is always tailored according to customer and project needs. The delivery can comprise foundation components, design and foundation components, or the complete turnkey foundation including assembly.
