SeaMade is very pleased to announce that the export cable connections of the Seastar and Mermaid offshore wind farm to the Modular Offshore Grid (MOG) have been successfully tested and energized.
As soon as the wind turbines and infield cables are getting installed, green energy will be provided to our Belgian households through these established connections with the shore grid.
The consortium of DEME OFFSHORE and HELLENIC CABLES S.A. signed the contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning works of the submarine high voltage cables for SeaMade’s combined project end of November 2018.

By the end of 2020, SeaMade will be operational with a capacity of 487 megawatts providing 485.000 households of green energy.

Half of this renewable energy production will come from offshore wind energy. SeaMade will contribute to almost one quarter of the required offshore energy production”
