Buss Group’s terminal in Eemshaven signs agreement with wind turbine manufacturer Senvion / Order includes handling of components for 32 wind turbines for the Trianel Windpark Borkum II
Hamburg, 21th September 2018. The Orange Blue Terminal and the international wind turbine manufacturer Senvion have signed an agreement for services for the Trianel Windpark Borkum II. As part of this major project, Buss will take care of all services upstream of and at the Dutch terminal: from planning, transport and interim storage on the terminal premises to pre-assembly and subsequent just-in-time delivery of the components to the quayside, ready for load-out. The planning phase should be completed before the end of the year. From spring 2019, a total of 32 wind turbines – consisting of approximately 75-meter-long type RE74.4 rotor blades, 64 tower segments and 32 nacelles – are to be transported successively to the Orange Blue Terminal. Around 80,000 square meters of the 250,000 square meter state-of-the-art heavy-duty terminal are used for storage, handling and pre-assembly of the components.

The Trianel Windpark Borkum II, which is expected to be erected until autumn 2019, will cover an area of 33 square kilometres in the North Sea, is situated around 45 kilometres to the north of the German coast.
Accordingly, the Orange Blue Terminal with its excellent location is the optimal base port for this project. With direct access to the North Sea, it offers ideal conditions for the installation of wind farms off the German coast. In the past the terminal was selected for offshore wind projects such as Nordsee One and Veja Mate for their operations.
