New members of the F multiturn family: the F5863 and F5883 multiturn encoders.

The award-winning patented Intelligent-Scan-TechnologyTM of the F multiturn encoder family from Kübler is now being utilised also in a standard 58 mm format encoder. This allows additional applications to be addressed, where higher bearing loads are required. The variants with hollow through shafts of up to 15 mm allow their flexible use in large drives.

This new multiturn encoder series distinguishes itself by its high reliability and a particularly high resolution.
The singleturn resolution reaches up to 17 bits, the multiturn resolution up to 24 bits, so that the encoder achieves a total resolution of 41 bits.
An extremely stable zinc die cast housing and the robust Safety-LockTM bearing design ensure the highest reliability not only from the mechanical point of view, but also from the electronic point of view, since both the singleturn and multiturn functionalities are completely integrated in one single OptoASIC. This makes the encoder 100% magnetic field-insensitive, with a non-contact scanning that is free from wear.

A clock rate of up to 2 MHz SSI and 10 MHz BISS-C with a data refresh rate of less than 1 μs, as well as additional incremental outputs, allow the encoder to achieve highly accurate positioning with high resolution feedback in real-time.

The SET button and the status-LED, a wide range of assembly/installation accessories as well as cable and plug-in solutions ensure the encoder’s simple, fast and correct installation and commissioning.

The F58 encoder family is available with the standard SSI interface or the digital BiSS-C interface, optionally with an additional incremental or SinCos track. A CANopen interface will also follow in the near future.
