Multi-Contact solar power connectors offer bankability at Clean Energy Live

Highlighted by Multi-Contact at the Clean Energy Live exhibition in
Birmingham this October will be its MC4 solar power connector system.
Offering the bankability needed for today’s PV projects, the pioneering
company has almost 20 years’ experience in this field and its brand-leading
connectors have been installed in 120 GW of PV systems worldwide.

Part of the globally certified MC4 connector range is the MC4-EVO 2, which
minimises power losses thanks to its exceptionally high current carrying
capacity of up to 69 A. A high voltage rating of up to 1500 V dc also means
that longer series strings can be used in PV arrays on large-scale solar
projects.

Suitable for cable cross-sections between 4 mm2 and 10 mm2 (12 to 8 AWG),
the highly reliable connector has a polyamide casing with improved impact
resistance and enhanced sealing. Ammonia and salt spray resistance also
enables operation in harsh environments.

Also on show will be the MC4-EVO AC, a three-pole AC connector for use with
micro or nano PV inverters. Designed for module and string level
applications, its low profile allows it to fit within the panel framework,
enabling modules to be stacked without the use of spacers.

With a current carrying capacity of up to 32 A, it has a rated voltage of
600 V AC (UL) and 400 V AC (IEC). Accepted cable cross-sections range from
1.5 mm2 to 4 mm2.

Clean Energy Live, which now incorporates the Solar Energy UK exhibition,
takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from 4 to 6 October 2016. Multi-Contact
can be found on stand G10.
