Nörvenich, 9 July 2020. Located in Nörvenich near Cologne, Germany, SMB Solar Multiboard GmbH has adapted its patented, mobile work platforms to the sizes of modern photovoltaic modules. Both of the company’s non-slip, 40 centimetre-wide aluminium boards are now six centimetres longer. In addition, SMB now offers its customers from all over the world a special 2.04 meter size for maintaining, repairing and cleaning particularly long solar modules.
Safely maintaining, cleaning and repairing solar systems
Like their predecessor boards, the new models SMB 1080/400, SMB 1780/400 and SMB 2040/400 can be easily and conveniently inserted into the spaces between solar modules with frames using rubber-coated tabs. Installers, roofers and cleaners can safely stand on the non-slip boards and maintain, clean and repair solar systems that have an inclination of up to 40 degrees. The panels weigh only six, ten or twelve kilograms. They prevent point loads and module damage by distributing the weight of the installers evenly on the module frame and the substructures.
Rising demand from all over the world
“PV modules are getting bigger and bigger. With our new series we have reacted to increasing customer demand”, explains SMB managing director Sven Heidbüchel. Founded in 2013, his company is growing steadily and has also been serving Asian and Arabic markets, e.g. Egypt, Dubai and Jordan, since 2019.
Since 2018, SMB has been cooperating with Jurchen Technology GmbH, which uses the boards for the maintenance of open-space PV systems in Germany and abroad. “Installers all over the world use our patented platforms. Our system is unrivalled”, says Sven Heidbüchel, pleased.
