The DragonBack® measurement method for high efficiency solar modules, developed by Pasan SA, the competence centre for measurement technologies within the Meyer Burger Technology Group, sets new standards in PV measurement and has now been successfully approved by the Photovoltaik Institut Berlin AG. With the DragonBack® technology Meyer Burger is setting a further standard.
Easily upgradable on existing HighLIGHT module testers
Class A+A+A+ rated (at least twice better than IEC class A)
Up to 120 modules/hour, 30 sec cycle time
Low takt time, low TCO, ease-of-use
The ground-breaking DragonBack® technology, developed by Pasan in cooperation with the SUPSI-ISAAC- Swiss PV Module Test Centre, is a completely new measurement method which combines extremely precise and repeatable measurements with the throughput required in production to measure the performance of high efficiency and high capacity cells such as those produced using heterojunction technology. The DragonBack® measurement method exceeds industry requirements of maximum measurement reliability, low takt time, low TCO and ease-of-use. It is based on a dynamic sweep of the voltage ramp in a series of steps that enable the current voltage characteristics to be accurately determined using a pulse of 10 ms. The DragonBack® measurement method is available on Pasan’s new HighLIGHT solar simulator. Manufacturers using a Pasan SunSim platform can upgrade to the HighLIGHT with a simple upgrade of the electronic load.
The extremely accurate and cost effective DragonBack® technology has been awarded the Solar Industry Award 2012. Now, the Photovoltaik Institut Berlin AG approved the DragonBack® method for the measurement of high capacitive modules after a study involving 8 different types of high efficiency modules where all measurement tests were carried out using a Pasan HighLIGHT module tester. The PI-Berlin validated the robustness and reliability of the DragonBack® method which demonstrated its best suitability for a high volume production environment.
With the DragonBack® technology, Meyer Burger sets a further standard in the measurement of high efficiency solar modules.
