MECASOLAR supplies 100 kW in solar trackers to PV solar plant in Australia

MECASOLAR, a multinational company that designs, manufactures and supplies solar trackers, fixed structures and foundation screws, has delivered 100 kW in single-axis solar trackers to a new PV power plant in the town of Carnarvon that was developed by EMC Solar (Energy Made Clean).

The trackers supplied by MECASOLAR were installed in one of the biggest solar power stations in the area. The station is to start operating in January 2012 under a 30-year commercial agreement signed with Horizon Power.

MECASOLAR’s cooperation in this project adds to other agreements reached before, which enabled the company to provide single- and dual-axis trackers to other Australian PV solar systems installed by ZEN, HARELEC and EMC Solar.

These sales, along with the strong bet by Australia’s organisations and industry on renewable energy, have decided MECASOLAR, a company of OPDE Group, to study the possibility of opening a local branch in Australia, a target market for 2012 for the international corporation specialising in solar power products, alongside India or Mexico, Group management sources said.

So far, 12 Australian companies have joined PROINSO’s International Network of Qualified Installers. They are companies with at least three years’ experience in the solar industry and have teams of engineers and installers capable of designing and carrying out solar projects.
