MECASOLAR supplies 1 MW in solar trackers to PV solar plant in Jorda


* The 1,028MWp solar farm, located in Ma’an, southern Jordan, is set to be connected at the beginning of 2014.
* The supply deal adds to other agreements recently reached by the multinational, which expects to sign new contracts in Morocco and Saudi Arabia soon.

2 December 2013. MECASOLAR has signed an important contract under which it will supply fixed structures to be installed in a PV solar park in Jordan. The new 1,028MWp solar park will be installed in Ma’an, southern Jordan, 218km from Amman, the capital of the country. The installation will be connected to the grid in the early months of next year.

MECASOLAR, a multinational firm specialising in the design and manufacture of solar trackers, fixed structures for ground- and roof-mounted installations, and foundation screws for PV solar farms, is to start delivering the fixed structures for the Jordan park by the end of 2013.

The recently signed contract adds to previous deals reached in nearby countries like Egypt, where MECASOLAR has delivered 103.04kW single-axis azimuth trackers to a solar project in El Cairo.

Specifications of the products supplied in Jordan

The new project in Jordan will contain MECASOLAR’s two-post system with a hot-dip galvanised steel structure, three modules in portrait layout and fast assembly. The fixed structure model to be installed in Ma’an features 255Wp modules and SMA Tripower 17000TL inverters.

Given the characteristics of the ground, the developers chose a special anchoring system consisting of 1.5m-long concrete micropiles thrust into the ground.

MECASOLAR, present in 40 countries

MECASOLAR has recently announced it would supply products to a 24MW solar park in Royalla, Australia. The firm expects to announce another big project in America soon, and to reach more deals in Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

The solar tracking systems, fixed structures and foundation screws by MECASOLAR have been delivered to more than 40 countries, with a power capacity in excess of 400MW.
