Maximum Flexibility And Safety Solarmaxs 32ht2 String Inverter

Thanks to the flexible installation options for the connection box, SolarMax’s 32HT2 inverter offers both high voltage protection and overvoltage protection for PV plants on commercial and public buildings.

Biel, October 7, 2014 – PV plants in exposed locations require particular protection during thunderstorms. With the optional, external connection box for the 32HT2 string inverter, SolarMax offers “type I/II” overvoltage and high voltage protection capabilities for ideal protection in the event of lightning strikes. Hence, the 32HT2 meets the increasing safety requirements, particularly regarding the use in buildings with existing lightning protectors or for DC-side cable lengths of 10-15 meters. Furthermore, protection class IP65 of the 32HT2 and the connection box guarantees high levels of safety when the plant is installed outdoors.

The external connection box can be installed directly beneath the inverter, but also outdoors, directly underneath the modules. This saves cabling and installation costs. Alternatively, it is also possible to install the connection box on the building envelope in order to meet fire protection requirements and to facilitate access for the fire department.

The 32HT2 inverter’s two MPP trackers guarantee ideal operation of each sub-generator and therefore maximum yields even for complex designs and partial shading. The 32kW-output device is characterized by a wide input voltage range and hence allows for flexible plant design. The high power density additionally reduces the set-up efforts.

PV plants equipped with HT series inverters include the latest communication solutions and can be monitored at no charge thanks to an integrated data logger using the MaxView portal or the MaxView app, which is available for all common mobile terminal devices. Therefore, SolarMax’s 32HT2 is a highly flexible, safe, and cost-optimized solution for all commercial and public PV plants.

About SolarMax
Sputnik Engineering AG, a Swiss company, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of grid-connected solar inverters. Under the name SolarMax the company develops, produces and sells inverters, and has done for more than 20 years – from photovoltaic plants on single-family homes whose kilowatt output is modest, to the solar power plants whose output is measured in megawatts. The inverter is a key component of the solar plant, transforming the generated direct current into grid-compliant alternating current. 20 years of experience is not only reflected in the Swiss quality, highest efficiency, reliability, and durability of the SolarMax product range; but also in the way the company offers its customers excellent international support in the field of after sales, comprehensive warranty services, and intelligent solutions for system monitoring.

SolarMax is positioned internationally and currently has approx. 300 employees at the headquarters in Switzerland and at its locations worldwide.
