A 414-kilowatt-peak system with 1,800 polycrystalline modules is producing more than 400,000 kilowatt hours of environmentally-friendly electricity on the roof of the MAGE HERZBERG GmbH building in Herzberg/Elster, Germany.
Ravensburg, 19. Dezember 2012 – MAGE SOLAR ENGINEERING GmbH, a 100-percent subsidiary of German-based MAGE SOLAR AG, has implemented a photovoltaic system with an peak output of 414 kilowatts on the roof of MAGE HERZBERG in Herzberg/Elster, Brandenburg, Germany. 1,800 polycrystalline modules each with a nominal output of 230 watts were installed on a flat roof of around 3,000 square meters and generate an average of more than 400,000 kilowatt hours of environmentally-friendly electricity. The solar energy generated can be used to supply almost 100 four-person households.
The modules were fitted with the MAGE SAFETEC FLEX mounting system, which was specially developed for the demands of flat and film-covered roofs, to ensure an optimal angle of irradiation and therefore the maximum solar energy yield. As the surface load is less than 10 kilograms per square meter, including the modules, the building statics are not affected. Without penetrating the roof membrane and with just a small amount of ballast on the edge area, the mounting system offers high stability in the highest wind-load zones, thanks to its aerodynamic construction.
The planning and implementation of the system was taken on by MAGE SOLAR ENGINEERING, which specializes in comprehensive photovoltaic concepts for companies and communities. Businesses, in particular, can use underused areas such as warehouse roofs, facades and parking lot roofs to produce solar energy. This is ecologically and economically sustainable. If businesses tap into some of the environmentally friendly electricity themselves, their energy costs can be significantly reduced. What’s more, the decision to use green energy boosts the company’s image.
MAGE HERZBERG is a leading manufacturer and distributor of roof accessories and systems engineering, and, just like MAGE SOLAR, is part of the MAGE GROUP, with its long tradition and active worldwide.
The polycrystalline MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules on the flat roof of the MAGE HERZBERG building generate over 400,000 kilowatt hours of environmentally-friendly electricity every year.
