Latest PR from Rehm Thermal Systems – Rehm Thermal Systems scoops Solar Industry Award for innovative Thermal Oxidation process

The team at Rehm Thermal Systems is currently celebrating winning a coveted Solar Industry Award for its RFS-D Fast Firing System with integrated dryer and RDS Drying System featuring an advanced Thermal Oxidation process. Presented to the team at a ceremony held in Hamburg during the EU PVSEC exhibition, the Solar Industry Awards trophy recognises Rehm Thermal Oxidiser’s ability to eliminate the challenge of residue contamination from photovoltaic metallization.

Topping the Solar Industry Awards’ product category, the addition of Rehm’s Thermal Oxidation technology has significantly enhanced the performance of its fast firing and drying technologies. The Rehm Thermal Oxidiser was developed to address the issue of reliably exhausting substantial quantities of vapour and smoke from the process chamber to avoid contamination and yield loss. Based on an innovative thermal oxidation process to reduce emissions from solar dryers and firing systems during the metallization of crystalline solar cells, the technology dramatically reduces associated maintenance costs. The process also ensures that emissions remain well below the statutory limitations for emissions of pollutants, delivering an important environmental advantage.

Rehm’s Solar Industry Award was collected by Johannes Rehm, CEO Rehm Thermal Systems during the prestigious ceremony held at the Maritim Hotel Reichshof on September 6th 2011. Speaking afterwards, Johannes Rehm commented: “We’re obviously delighted to win this award for the product enhancements delivered by our Thermal Oxidation process. We believe, and our customers have proven, that this is an extremely innovative development with the potential to deliver major productivity benefits – it’s great to receive official industry recognition for this! In green industries such as solar, it is essential that green energy is generated by green processes. We’ve addressed this demand with the Thermal Oxidiser which is helping our customers achieve compliance with legal requirements for emissions. Plus, with other advantages including reduced maintenance costs, low energy consumption, minimal operating costs and decreased odour of solar dryers, it’s an incredibly efficient technology.”
