Munich, June 19, 2018: At the start of this year’s Intersolar, BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy developer, service supplier, wholesaler and energy solutions provider, was one of the first companies to achieve SolarPower Europe’s new Solar Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Best Practices Mark. An industry first, the Mark is a seal of excellence that clients can rely on when assessing the quality and reliability of a provider’s services.
“It has always been our objective to provide global O&M services at the highest level”, says Paolo Chiantore, Managing Director at BayWa r.e. Operation Services s.r.l and Chair of the SolarPower Europe Task Force that developed the Best Practices Mark. “The SolarPower Europe O&M Best Practices Mark is major step forward for the industry and will help create transparency and drive up standards across the O&M market. It assures our customers that they are working with a provider of the highest quality.”
O&M contractors using the Mark declare conformity with SolarPower Europe’s O&M Best Practices guidelines and put together a checklist and a technical dossier to substantiate their compliance. “Thanks to this completely transparent system, customers can easily evaluate the quality of services provided by different O&M contractors”, explains Máté Heisz, Business Analyst at SolarPower Europe. “Based on this self-certification program our Best Practices Mark will strengthen the commitment of worldwide O&M players in delivering excellence-led, proficient and reliable services.”
Achieving the Best Practices Mark is the latest success for BayWa r.e.’s Operation and Maintenance business. “We are in a hugely dynamic market”, adds Tobias Bittkau, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services GmbH. “Successful service providers must have the very best technical services, optimized digital systems and processes, as well as the most experienced and safest operators. Our ongoing programme of investment means we are one of a few providers to provide these high levels of service globally. Achieving SolarPower Europe’s O&M Best Practices Mark is further proof of this.”
From June 20 to 22, BayWa r.e. will be presenting its comprehensive product and service portfolio in the photovoltaic sector at booth A3.180 and will be hosting an extensive lecture program for interested visitors to the Intersolar trade fair.
